Hi! I’m Laura.

Language has always been at the heart of my professional life. As a qualified secondary teacher of English, freelance translator and English trainer, I have spent over two decades helping people communicate, learn, and connect across languages, cultures, and technologies.

My journey began with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures, enriched by studies at the University of Reading in the UK through the Erasmus programme and by working as an Italian Language Assistant in Scotland. These international experiences helped me develop a deep understanding of both language and culture, allowing me to work confidently in bilingual and multicultural environments.

Today, I teach English at secondary school level in Italy, where I work with students aged 14 to 19, teaching language, literature, and technical English. Alongside classroom teaching, I am actively involved in digital innovation and educational technology. I train fellow teachers in the effective use of artificial intelligence, helping them create personalised learning materials tailored to the needs of their students.
As a freelance translator since 2001, I have collaborated with agencies and companies in both Italy and the United Kingdom, translating a wide range of content including marketing materials, technical documentation, engineering manuals, legal texts, financial documents, websites, and educational resources. This extensive experience has given me a strong ability to adapt language to different audiences and industries while maintaining accuracy and cultural sensitivity.

I am a qualified teacher in both Italy and England, holding Qualified Teacher Status from the General Teaching Council of England. My professional background also includes experience as an Italian media analyst, communications manager, and English trainer for adult learners and corporate clients.

Whether I am teaching, translating or supporting other educators, my goal remains the same: to make communication clearer and learning more engaging.
